Not everyone comes to Kenya and see all the Kenyans. The idea is to make tourists learn about Kenyans and Kenya itself. For centuries there existed a thriving culture and society in East Africa. This society was a mix of Arab and native peoples cultures. Then the white man came into this part of the world and put his mark on it. For several centuries his influence only went a short distance inland from the settlements along the coast. During the 19th century ( 1800"s) the white man came in force and pushed into the heart of Africa, and changed it forever. Ngomongo Village is a collection of 10 diverse RURAL Kenya Tribal HOMESTEADS set in an abandoned murram quarry reclaimed into a lush forestover a period of ten years, each complete with hut, cultivated crops, domestic & wild animals (like crocodile for the El molo man) wild animal traps, charms and fetishes, tinsmiths and even a village witch doctor! Each village has a tribe - specific activities for you to engage in, including archery, boating, rafting, tasting tribal foods and liquor, trekking, hookfishing, grinding and pounding maize. Enjoy, marvel or participate in the various tribal dances, nothing to stop you from having a great time. As a matter of fact they will encourage you to join in. but then as all good things, they all have to come to an end. After the trek through the village households, you get the feeling that you have literally walked throughout rural Kenya in less than 1 1/2 hours.
Hope that you brought along your camera along with you, for every sight is worth capturing.
